Have fun when creating, “Don’t Panic”, always know where your towel is and “42”.
Many years ago I started painting in oil. Career, marriage, raising children - all took me away from art. Then, several years ago, I found that I had time to pursue my creative side and looked again to painting.
I studied watercolor with Marty Meade, Nancy Johnson, Julie Cohn and Jennifer Almodova in an attempt to master this elusive and wonderful medium.
My paintings range from floral, landscapes to the wildly imaginative.
I then branched out to acrylics, studying with Bernard Healey and Katrina Wagner.
My work has been accepted in numerous juried exhibitions and I’ve exhibited in non-juried shows as well as group showings at several local venues such as Falkirk, League of Women Voters, Marin Builders Exchange, and the Novato Police Department.
From 2006 to 2008 I chaired the Marin Museum of Contemporary Arts' Exhibition Team. During that time we presented several highly successful national juried exhibitions and several local exhibitions. I was co-curator for the "5th National Fall Exhibition" and the 2008 Winter National, "It's Photography III".
Subsequently I became Director of Classroom Programs at MarinMOCA, promoting and providing art classes to the community at large. I retired from this post in the beginning of 2011.
In 2012 I joined Marin Society of Artists. I set up and established the ability to have online show entries for non-local shows and have co-curated several of them, including the July 2013 National Exhibition "Fresh Art", Marin Society of Artists first digital entry exhibition.
Elected to the Marin Society of Artists' Board of Directors in 2013 and served as Treasurer from 2014 to 2017.
Currently Chair of the computer team and Web Mistress.
My work is in several private collections throughout the western United States.
